When and Where to Register for the Sacraments

BAPTISM ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Baptisms are administered three times during the year (namely May, August and November).
Please check your Year Calendar for the dates.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ø The parents are required to meet the block leader before they meet the Parish Priest. A letter of recommendation is required from the block leader.
Ø A month before the actual date of Baptism, the parents are requested to register the names of the children at the Office of the Parish Priest.
Ø Both parents are required to meet the parish priest for the interview.
Ø The non-Catholic parent must give a letter of permission to the Catholic Church for the baptism of the baby.
Ø Please bring the following documents with you when you come for the Registration:
o Full Birth Certificate of the Child
o Baptism Cards of both the parents
o Contribution Cards of the parents
o Baptism Cards of the Godparents
o Contribution Cards of the Godparents
Ø Only a Confirmed Catholic can stand as Godparent (proof thereof should be presented)
Ø Those from non-Catholic church can act only as witness. A proof of their membership at the other churches is to be produced.
Ø The Parents and the Godparents must attend Baptism Classes of four (4) sessions.
Ø The Parents must make sure that their Church Contribution is brought up-to-date. A failure in this regard will result in the postponement of the baptism.
Ø Active participation in the Church activities and attendance at the block gatherings and prayer meetings ensures the further upbringing of the child in Christian faith and morals.
